On Saturday, September 21, Iowans around the state held "Draw the Line" events to oppose the Keystone XL pipeline. Here is a photograph from the event in Cedar Rapids:
Other events were held in Ames, Davenport, Des Moines, Grinnell, and Hiawatha.
The Keystone pipeline is not in our national interests because it would make climate change even worse, it would endanger water and other natural resources, and it would allow a foreign oil company to take American farms and ranches (through eminent domain) to build the pipeline to Port Arthur, Texas, for sale on the global market.
If you have a news report about an event you would like added to this post, please send an email to email@example.com.
