Cedar Rapids "Read, Discuss, Act For Climate Action" Series (July 10, 17, 24, and 31)

Read. Discuss... Act! for Climate Action: If you're interested in what we can do about climate change, please consider coming to the Reading for Climate Action series. Each session will be held from 7:00 to 8:00 PM on the four Wednesdays in July starting July 10. The series will focus on State Senator Rob Hogg's new book America's Climate Century. The all-star lineup of speakers will include:

July 10: “Politics and Climate,” Rob Hogg

July 17: “Beyond Fossil Fuels,” Rich Patterson

Indian Creek Nature Center, 6665 Otis Rd. SE, Cedar Rapids (covering chapter 5 of book). Bonus! Tour of green energy alternatives at Indian Creek Nature Center.

July 24: “Climate Action,” Karmen Wilhelm & Brad Duggan

Van Meter Inc., 850 Thirty Second Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids (covering chapter 6 of book)

July 31: “Climate Science and Doubting Thomases,” Dr. Paula Sanchini

Coe College, Stuart Hall, Room 405, Cedar Rapids (covering chapters 2, 3, 4, and appendix)
